Simply the best

That’s my Ryan for you.  He really is the best for so many reasons…. here are just a few…..He does all the undesirables I don’t want to do (changing light bulbs, smoke alarm batteries, unclogging drains) as well as the things I don’t want to learn how to do (all things computer related even as silly as loading songs on the ipod), he does all the manly stuff-- anything car related, home improvement, yard etc…. I rely on him for so many things and am so glad I don’t even have to think about doing them myself or making sure they’re done.  I love it.  One of the things I love about him is he’s so conscientious and doesn’t trust anyone more than himself so if he doesn’t know how to do something he’ll learn how.  Another thing he does that I appreciate so much is he always gets really thoughtful gifts.  He gave me one of the best most thoughtful early Christmas presents this year.  My very own dress form!  It’s beautiful isn’t it?  Once this belly is gone I can adjust it to all of my own dimensions to make it a perfect fit for making clothes.  How awesome is that!

Ryan you rock!

A few years ago my sister Annie and I made a form out of duct tape that was a mold of my torso.  A literal mold of my body.  She wrapped me in duct tape then cut me out of it and taped it back to together then stuffed it with stuffing……I threw it out last week as soon as I got my fancy new one, I wish I’d gotten a picture of it for memories sake.

Here’s how my sewing room stands for now.  There is still a bit to do, but right now it’s functional and all the hard stuff is complete so I am more than happy.

The white table with my sewing machine is temporary, we want to do two tables on either side of the white hutch one for the sewing machine one for the serger.  We still need to cut down at least two of the tall chairs so they’re regular height and can be used at my sewing tables and then I need to find fabric to recover the seats.  The lighting is pretty bad so we also need to have a ceiling light installed.  Then it’s just more decorating and such.

Flooring = completion

We did it!  We finished it it one day.  And when I “we” of course I mean Ryan.  One long day.  And luckily there were no big problems, it was relatively easy, but tedious going and Ryan will probably not be able to stand up straight for a week.  I’m pretty convinced he can do anything.  He’s my superman.

Surprise!!

P1070719

That’s right we’re pregnant!!  I know, I know it’s a little late to be announcing this, and most of you probably already know this since you see me everyday and it’s way past the “hiding” stage, but for my far away friends now you can get in on the excitement too!  Don’t worry you’re not too far out of the loop, we just surprised our family with it over Thanksgiving we thought it’d be fun to tell them in person with a big belly as proof (I hope they thought it was fun too Smile).  I’m due April 13th so we’re over half way now and we’re having another BOY and we are all of us thrilled.  I am so excited to have two little boys running around the house together.  This is the closest together we’ve had any of our kids, I know tons of people have them way closer than this (20 months), but to us this is close!  Finn is still my baby….I want him to stay my baby for a lot longer he’s just too dang cute.  I know I know they just get cuter as they get older, but really it’s hard to imagine anything cuter and more fun than his smiley, bouncy, goofy current self.

This pregnancy is flying by, we waited as long as we could to tell people here, I’m sure there were many speculations before I came out with it, but it has made it go by so so much faster.  I haven’t been sick and have been feeling pretty good the whole time which only adds to the excitement of it all.

On another exciting topic we’re laying the sewing room floors tomorrow!

It has begun!

One of the first things that spurred redoing my sewing room was the realization that we spend way more time in my sewing room than the kids do in the play room, so I started rethinking room arrangements and decided to do a little flip flop.  We’re moving the sewing room to the old game room (it’s a much bigger room) and then Finn’s room will change to the now old sewing room (his current room is above the garage and gets so stinking cold at night) and the toy room will be in Finn’s old room.  Complicated I know, but it will be a much much better arrangement.

Today we pulled out the carpet and we’ll be replacing it with some wood laminate, the walls are almost painted their new fresh color and the brown hutch will be painted early this week.  I can’t wait for the floors to be done so I can start moving in and see the transformation.
