Bust!

I'm so sad to report, but the craft fair was a total bust!! Pretty much our booth spot was the death of us. We were one of three booths behind all of the rest, nobody even knew we were there. Pretty sad. The place was packed but, seriously, hardly anyone even walked past our booth! It was nuts. By noon we were ready to pick up our stuff and go snatch another spot, the open spot we were eyeing turned out to be bought by the store front behind it so no such luck with moving the tent. With our heads hung we resigned ourselves to our sad lot. What a way to start off my very first craft fair. The day wasn't a total waste, I had a fun time with Abby and Ryan and Sadie came to visit us. I really don't even regret doing it, it was fun being on the other side of the tent. Even though this one wasn't so hot, we're still planning on doing another one in september. I'm crossing my fingers this one is better! If not I think I may have to swear off craft fairs for the time being.

We leave for Utah on friday and I am SO excited! I can't wait to see everyone and for sadie to meet her cousins. She'll love them I'm sure. Speaking of cousins, Mandy and Jake had their baby!! yeah!! Way to bring in more cousins on the Allen side. She's a tiny little thing, only 3 lbs 10 oz. but thankfully she healthy. Lots to pack before friday! I sure hope I get to see that little girl before I come home!!

Fathers Day

Ryan is such a great dad and his little girl just adores the heck out of him, so for a Fathers Day gift I had my good friend Ashley take some pictures of Sadie and I. Sadie looks so dang cute in them! Here are just a few. Thanks Ashley!

why I can't get enough of summer

Wisconsinites (or ate least my friends and myself) tend to hide out all winter long and the minute spring FINALLY decides to come around, we're out every day enjoying every second of it. We feel like we have to pack all of our fun into these few short months before the cold returns. Last week was no different and on one of those fun filled days we went swimming then picked tons and tons of strawberries at a nearby farm. The next day I learned how to make freezer jam. Not very hard I learned, but it was a first for me! Now my freezer is packed full of delicious strawberry jam and my fridge is still filled with leftover strawberries. I'm running out of ideas on how to use them up!

The craft fair is finally here! all my hard work and preparation will finally be put to the test. It is this saturday, I really hope all goes well.

a work in progress

Here are the before and after pictures of our house. The before picture was taken when we first bought the house. We spent the first year transforming the whole inside of the house and this year its time for the outside! We still have alot of lanscaping to do, but the painting is coming along.

Ta da!! At least from this angle. We still have alot of painting to do on the back windows but at least it looks done from the front, right? We've just begun our landscaping. I planted some really nice flowers (zinnia) on the porch and ryan did the trellace and beautiful vine (you can't see them very well, but they're pretty sweet).
