I swam. I biked. I ran. I conquered!

On Saturday morning I did my very first sprint Triathlon. I did it with 3 other friends. We signed up about 6 weeks before and then trained and trained. We woke up bright and early, 5:30am, to do our run bike combo's or swim in the dark. I can definitely say I am glad the early morning workouts are done with for now. I'm really not a 5:30am kinda girl. I am so glad I had these girls to train with. It makes such a difference waking up knowing you'll be met with cheery girls.

Back to the race. First we swam 750 meters (1/2 mile) out in a fairly cold lake - hence the need for the flattering wetsuit. We then biked 12 miles and finished off with a 5K (3mi) run. I was in a different heat than the other girls so we were all on our own once we started.

Sexy, I know. Don't be jealous now! Nervous to get started just waiting for my heat.

Just finished the swim and am trying to strip off this wetsuit.

Time for the bike! ready or not here I come! I put some sweet road tires onto my mountain bike and they were so speedy! I almost feel like a true road biker with them on.

Finished the bike and started off on the last leg, the run. The transition area is huge and after the bike I had the hardest time finding my stuff. Everything looks exactly the same. It was so disorienting feeling! I finally found it, only because our sweet husbands were standing there yelling at me trying to guide me to it.

Almost there! Run faster!!

So speedy!

And we did it!! Julie, me, Amy, and Sarah

Only the non-racers can truly enjoy all the yummy food.

Brian, Travis, and Ryan. Thanks for coming to support guys!
The race was seriously so much fun. Could I do a full Tri?? Who knows, but maybe one day I'll give it a try.

Go Cougs!

We bleed blue in this house...or is it pink?! I think today is one of THE most exciting days of Ryan's life. He's in Dallas at the BYU vs. OU game and I'm sure he is loving every second of it. As for the girls and I, we're having a relaxing weekend at home cheering our boys on.

Don't disappoint Cougs!
