she really does understand...imagine that!
yesterday Ryan, Sadie and I were sitting outside on the porch and we had a funny little conversation with Sadie. She was being very obstinate and didn't want anyone messing with her while she played with her rocks so Ryan decided to ask her a few questions just to see if she was listening.
"Sadie, will you give me hugs?"
-No
"Can I have a rock?"
-No
"Do you want to go inside"
-No
"Do you want to eat some Candy?"
-uh huh
Goes to show she really is listening. We laughed pretty hard at this we thought she was just saying No to everything we asked her to maintain that little oppositional personality of hers, but really she could never turn down anything edible. She'd eat all day if we let her.
Update on our Denver trip. We had a great time looking at houses. Mostly all of the houses we looked at were bank owned homes so many were in bad shape but there were some really nice ones as well. We put an offer on one while we were there and are still waiting to hear back from them. The banks often take very long time to respond we are finding. The house we made an offer on is just what we're looking for 3 bed, a sewing room!!!, and a loft. That's right, this house was pretty much made with me in mind. The previous owners turned one of the bedrooms into a sewing/craft room and it is fabulous!! It would make sewing immensely more enjoyable having a nice open space to work in. We really hope we get this house!

Sold, sold sold!!

It's done, we've sold the house. It has been an extremely long process with these buyers but we've finally closed the deal (I've thought this once or twice in the last few weeks with these guys, but this time is for real...I hope!). They've asked for alot and we've given alot, and frankly it's taken several cuts at our pride because of course we think our house is worth much more, but in the end we feel very blessed to have this taken off our hands. We know it could so easily have sat on the market for months and months as many other wonderful houses are doing right now. What a relief! We wil be closing on June 20th, that means we only have one more month!! eeks! lots to do, friends to hang out with, boxes to pack, a house to buy....at least I no longer have to be incessantly cleaning my house for showings. I want to fully enjoy this short bit of milwaukee summer while we're here.
It was pretty perfect timing for the finalizing of our house because tomorrow Sadie and I are going to accompany Ryan to Denver while he works this week and we're going to do some serious house hunting. Who knows, we may even put an offer on this week if we find THE ONE!
The past few weeks have been fun having Ryan around a little more since he's been working from home. It's taken some getting used to having him be here.....but not "available". Sadie loves peaking in at him throughout the day to say hi and then run away squealing hoping he'll follow. some of Sadie's favorite things these days are
- trying on every pair of shoes she has throughout the day
- playing outside ALL day long - "outsi, outsi, outsi, outsi,......" is a very frequent phrase in our house and she'll keep repeating it until we give in.
- collecting rocks
- wrestling with dad
- dancing
- testing new words
- giggling
- taking bubble baths
Her little personality gets funnier all the time now that she can use her words more to get what she wants. Shes got her mom's fire and dad's contagious laugh and a whole lot of her very own Sadie pizzaz.
