Jane Austen

You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.

I've been on a bit of a Jane Austen kick and have just recently read all of her books. I'd have to say that Elizabeth Bennet is probably my very favorite of them all.

So Excited!!

I'm goin' to Switzerland!! I still can hardly believe this is really going to happen, it all came about so fast. My parents decided they wanted to go out for Marin's baby blessing and the tickets were just too cheap to pass up. I've been dreaming about a trip for the last year so this seemed the perfect time to go. The day after first discussing it, we were taking Sadie's passport pictures and buying tickets! All a little sudden, but I am so glad we jumped on this one. Ryan won't be able to come so it'll just be me and Sadie. Daunting I know. The flight over has been a big deterrant and I was too nervous to do it on my own. Now that mom and dad are going, they get to share in the joys of travelling with a 1 1/2 year old! yeah for parents!! I am so excited to go see annie and steve and the kids. I haven't seen them in 2 years! That is much too long. Now we are waiting and hoping Sadie's passport gets here in time. We leave in 3 weeks.

home again, home again....

....jiggidy jig. We are back from all of our Chistmas fun. I've been putting off blogging all last week because I knew I had lots to catch up on. So here goes...

First we went to California to spend christmas with the Donohues. We had a fabulous time, the only downer was that we all caught the flu! It got to us all; we all had a few days of bumming around the house before we were back to our good old selves. Even through all the sickness, it was so fun to be with everyone. It's the first christmas we've had with all of us together. Steve and Julie are moving to Dallas when their house sells so that may very well be our last christmas in California! So sad. I don't think Jason and Aimee could put us all up in their house, bummer. Here's a look at some of the fun we had.

WARNING: for the faint of heart, turn back now, this is a very long post. You've been warned.

Ryan's dad took us for a ride in his plane. We were just a little nervous when we saw the size of the plane. It's volkswagon of a plane. I could hardly believe something so small (relatively) could get up in the air. It does and Steve was a great pilot! Brinley came with us for her birthday plane ride.

we take this very seriously. There was no laughter, it was strictly business. Ambrie and Clint drew up blue prints and called Frank Loyd Wright for some pointers on their house. The finished product would have fit well in a modern architecture museum. It was pretty nice!
okay, there was maybe a little laughter

for those who haven't been to our house yet, this is pretty much an exact replica of it

Santa brought us some christmas jammies

we're on our way to Jason and Aimee's to open christmas presents! Sadie takes her provisions (as my dad calls them - provisions includes apple sauce, crackers, craisins and any other snack that fits in her little baggy) where ever she goes. She'll carry her bag of goodies around the house all day.....wait a minute....maybe that's why her tummy's so huge!!
so fast!

Ryan reading to the little ones

on Ryan's birthday Jason decided to take him surfing.

It's a lot harder than it looks, so we hear.
this girl cracks me up!
Well that about sums up our California trip. After all this fun Ryan went back home and Sadie and I went off to Utah for some more fun. I forgot my camera so no pictures from there, but we had a great time. There were always lots of visitors at Mom and Dad's house to keep us all busy and having a good time. We went skiing and sledding, played games and just enjoyed one anothers company. We had such a great time in both places thanks to all our family for so many fun new memories!
THE END
