She's trying so hard to crawl, she just can't figure out how to go forward. Somehow she still manages to get where she wants it just takes her longer and she encounters alot more obstacles. i.e. getting stuck under chairs and such.

Classic Sadie

Sadie doesn't really have much middle ground, she's either really happy, or very very unhappy and she doesn't give much warning. We managed to capture the transformation...

"So happy!"

"Mom and Dad are so fun"

"they just love me"

"okay, getting a little bored"

"what you gonna do about it guys??"

"this is madness! put me to bed!"

Finally after 9 months!

Sadie is sleeping through the night!!! horray! Honestly at times I thought this day would NEVER come. She fought it with all her might until just a few weeks ago. I cut out the last night feeding and Ryan started going to her in the night instead of me and it took only a week and a half of that routine until we got our very first night from 7pm till 6am. It was marvelous. After that it was about every other day she'd sleep all the way through and now.....its every night! Sleep makes life so much more enjoyable.

Sadie just had her 9 month checkup and she weighed in at 15lbs 14 oz and is 27 1/4 inches long. That puts her in only the 5th percentile for weight. I seriously didn't believe it because she doesn't look skinny at all! She has rolls and a nice big belly. I thought for sure their scale must be off so we weighed her here and she really is just under 16 lbs. crazy. We're just glad she's healthy and still growing.

...just waiting to be made...

Here's a little preview of some of the fun new fabrics I got! I've been sewing like a mad woman the past week to try and build up my inventory again. I just sold a bunch this week to friends and new friends which I am thrilled about! The word is finally getting out and more and more babies are being born which is just wonderful. My business cards should be here any day now. I'm set.

We started painting our house last night and realized how long its going to take us.....pretty much forever.....it feels that way anyway. We started with the screens for our windows. With these old houses they have screens and storm windows that you store in your basement when they're not being used. When it starts getting hot outside you take down your storm windows and put up the screens and when it starts getting chilly, take down the screens...and put up the storm windows so pretty much we have 3 sets of windows to paint. We're painting the windows in our basement and then once we're brave enough we'll move outside and do the trim. It's true, we sound like pansies, really we're just bummed we're going to have to put so much time into this when there are so many other fun things to do now that its warm. I'm totally torn between sewing and painting....do I spend my free time painting or sewing, that's the real question. My nightmare is to have it come time for the craft fair and I don't have nearly enough nursing covers done, this haunts my dreams! So alas I think I'll spend my precious nap time hours sewing, sorry Ryan!

fabric, fabric, fabric!

I just can't get enough of it! I could easily spend hours at the fabric store, and often I do. There are so many hidden little treasures. I just picked up a bunch of very fun new fabrics yesterday and am excited to use them! This morning I deep cleaned the bathrooms and I gotta say the Mr. Clean magic sponge thingies are AMAZING. It has transformed my view on tub cleaning. It's not so bad after all. It takes me half the time when I use my new magical sponge and it just seems so much cleaner. I'm in love. I must have inhaled too many of the bleach fumes this morning, I'm getting a bit delirious over a sponge.

Sadie is moving around so much more and is getting very close to crawling I think....she is not so stationary anymore. She is getting really good at turning around while she's sitting and rocking on her knees and she'll push around the room on her tummy backwards. She can't go forward at all....I'm going to bet that's a little frustrating. She's sure funny. We are getting very excited for our trip out to Utah for the 4th of July. We can't wait to see everyone. Sadie can't wait to meet all the Allens!! She's been talking about it for days. Well that's all for now, we're going to the Zoo this afternoon and I've got to make the most of this nap and get to work cutting all of this beautiful fabric!

Fun Saturday

The race was so much fun! The whole day was just a blast. It was down in Madison so it was a little drive and we were very worried Sadie wouldn't last without any naps. It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day for running, our adrenaline was pumpin, and our race jitters were jumping. Ryan had sadie while we ran and it turned out there was a free zoo just a few blocks from where we were so they hung out there for a while to pass the time. Since it was such a huge race (there were 15,000 people!) we all had little electronic chips tied to our shoes to track our time so it'd actually be accurate. I was expecting I'd come in around 50 minutes, but to my surprise I came in at 46 min. yeah! When I finished I was tired...but not exhausted so I know I could do it faster.....I'll shoot for that next time. I dream of becoming a road race junkie, if it weren't for all the entrance fees, I think I probably would! (okay not really, but I really do love them) It's a great way to spend a saturday morning. Here are some fun pictures.

I almost forgot the best part. Sadie was an ANGEL baby the whole day!! (minus the car ride home, sorry whitney! she had the pleasure of sitting next to her the whole way home) Seriously though, she was the best she's ever been. What a sweet girl we have.
