Snow!!
We love the snow at our house and this week we got a good taste of it. Sadie just happen to have a half day and no school the next day. It was pretty much heaven for her. She spent hours outside by herself while Pipes was at preschool and then with Piper.
Finn spent his time like this, looking longingly out the window watching her. He absolutely loves to be outside. Anytime someone steps outside he has to follow or there is a whole lot of sadness.
The snow didn’t deter him so. He wanted out so badly so I gathered up Pipers old snow clothes and geared him up with her pink flowered boots, gloves and snow pants. He was one happy boy.
P.S. notice all the huge houses behind us. They’ve shot up like crazy. Our beautiful view of the mountains is gone. I’ve had such mixed emotions about all of this building going up all around us. At first I was so excited, it’s nice to have some activity around here and I’m very excited about the cutback of wind, dust, weeds, rabbits, prairie dogs, crazy allergies from said wind/dust/weeds. Those things all make me extremely happy, but the day the started on the two houses directly behind us my emotions started to change. The first day I found myself hoping beyond hope they were going to be ranch homes, but by day two it was very apparent they were not. 2 days. That’s all I had to mourn my view of the mountains. It all happened too fast. I felt like I didn’t truly love them as I should have until they were gone. sad, sad day. Now that the houses are fully up we do have a small sliver off to the side where we can still see nice view, but it just isn’t the same.
We’ve lived so long without neighbors I’m really not so excited about the prospects of houses on all sides of us. We realized we’ve never had neighbors behind us since we’ve been married. First we lived in the converted “chicken coop” which was in the backyard of the main house, but the yard was big enough and turned kind of side ways so we didn’t really have a house directly behind us, then in Milwaukee our house had a detached garage behind it, so once again no backyard neighbors, and then now. We’ve had so much privacy, our one side neighbors here were a young married couple who we never ever saw so really it felt like we didn’t have people on either side or behind us. I’m realizing how nice that can be. Our one side neighbors have now moved and we have houses going up on all sides of us. The changes are a little fast for me, but since we have no choice in the matter I guess we’ll learn to love it.

changes are very hard. I would be really sad if our view of the mountains were covered.
Neighbors can be great, i Hope you have some nice ones move in next to you.
