In case you were curious…
what would happen if you got your head too close to your kitchen aid mixer.
This is the result.
The other side of this is a slightly bald little girl who was so sad and embarrassed I couldn’t bring myself to document it except for the hair casualty she left behind.
This picture doesn’t quite do it justice to how much hair is actually wrapped around it. It was quite a lot especially from a girl who didn’t have tons to begin with. This beautiful hair piece is courtesy of Miss Sadie Kay. It ripped out all of her hair on the top left 1/4 of her head leaving only her small growth baby hair fuzz behind. I had my back turned and her head was just bobbing up and down with every revolution. It was so so sad! I ran and turned it off and she just stood up with a dazed scared look on her face touching her head. The craziest part is that we didn’t have to cut her hair away. As soon as I turned it off she was free. It had pretty much scalped her and pulled the hair straight out from the root. Her forehead is now super sore and bruised, but she says her scalp doesn’t hurt.
She was so sad and embarrassed for awhile she wouldn’t even look in the mirror. I felt so bad for her, poor girl. I hope the kids at school are nice and don’t make fun of her. That’d break my heart. I tried to reassure her that we’d think of some creative ways to do her hair so it’s not quite so noticeable, hopefully I can come up with more ways than the comb-over side pony tail she’ll be rocking for the next while. Too bad they can’t wear hats to school.
Hair grows. Thankfully.

AHHHHH! My jaw was on the floor reading this whole thing. Poor, poor Sadie girl! That is the saddest thing....and scary! I'm so glad she wasn't more hurt than she was. We are big fans/experts of comb-overs around here to cover up hair fatalities, so you have our full support. :) We just love little Sadie. Give her a hug from us!
What the what?!?! Poor Sadie! I can't believe you didn't have to cut anything. I hope it grows fast for everyone's sake.
Oh. My. Word! This is crazy! So scary, I will be watching my girls extra close from now on! But Im glad to see you blogging, I want more!
Oh My GOSH! Poor Sadie. I cannot even imagine how bad that hurt. I feel so bad for her being so embarrassed about it. Geez, that's scary.
Poor Sadie :( If I think of any hair styles i'll let you know. Are they allowed to wear those cloth headbands that aren't bandanas but kind of can cover the hair like one?
I'm guessing they're not allowed to wear the scarfs....they aren't even technically allowed to wear feathers in their hair... But that is a really good idea, we may just have to try it anyway.
She's doing so much better now and doesn't seem too fazed by it, until someone talks about it in her presence, then she gets embarrassed. She's a sweetie.
Oh no! Poor Sadie! I'm glad you had fast reflexes and saved her from the clutches of the Kitchenaid. I probably would have accidentally turned it on faster before I figured out what to do. I hope her hair grows quickly.
(I'm also secretly really wishing we could see a picture of her! I'm a bad person!)
Miriam! Worse than you described!
