everyone’s favorite time of year
It felt like a bit of a whirl wind as always, maybe even more whirly this year. We had fun doing all of our traditional favorites; decorating together, watching all of our favorite Christmas movies, letters to Santa, crafting, making cookies, gingerbread houses, looking at lights, trying to guess what our presents are, Legoing and visiting family.
Sadie’s letter to Santa.
Christmas Eve. Right before opening our Christmas eve present Piper was a little (aka a LOT) grumpy from a nap she had just woken up from so no happy, excited pictures from her. Sadie had enough excitement for the both of them. Piper did eventually snap out of it and enjoyed gingerbread house making and our nativity complete with two pregnant Mary’s played marvelously by Piper and Sadie.
We watched The Grinch and while we did this Ryan made this amazing creation. The Grinch Santa Clause. Once again, no instructions. Pretty amazing in my opinion! He has now gained the status of Lego Maestro.
need a closer look?? It’s magical isn’t it? I wish it could become immortalized as a part of our Christmas decorations. Too late for that, it’s been crushed into a million pieces ready to be built into something even more marvelous.
It’s gingerbread house making time!! This is a thrilling time for all at our house. Sadie says the way you make a gingerbread house is you eat one candy, put one on….eat one, put one on. She stuck to her guns on this one. A note for next year…..build the house in two parts. One night graham cracker house construction, the next night candy. I don’t have the patience to wait for it to harden.
Christmas morning. The dress ups were a clear favorite.
as were these cute purses Grandma Julie got the girls, fully equipped with all the essentials a girl could need including but not limited to: wallet w/photo ID, money, chapstick, kleenex, notepad, tic tacs, pencils, and body glitter spray.
Sasdie with her new tool set! This is what she wanted most of all.
My two handsome guys. They’re both getting more and more handsome every day. I feel pretty lucky to have them both.
Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope your Christmas was as fun and family filled as ours was. Sorry no Christmas cards this year from us! Maybe next year. That is clearly not my forte, sorry! Thanks for sending yours anyway. I loved them!
