Finn’s blessing

This past weekend we blessed Finn and were so lucky that my Mom, Grandma and Grandpa Allen, and Ryan’s Mom and Dad were all able to come!  In our minds there is nothing better than spending time with our family.  It was such a great time with some great conversation.  We took the girls swimming in the hotel pool where Steve and Julie were staying.  The water was freezing, but it didn’t stop Piper from swimming.  She was so blue lipped and shivering but would still run back into the pool every time we tried to warm her up.  It still made for some fun winter swimming.

Piper was not a happy camper when it came time for picture taking so this sun spotted picture will have to do.

Grandma and Grandpa Allen.  I love these two!  They are the two sweetest grandparents and always have an entertaining story to tell.  I’m so glad they came out.

Mom.  We were lucky she was able to squeeze us in between two trips to South America.  It wouldn’t have been the same without her!

There’s always a lot of wrestling when Papa Steve comes to visit.  He’s a good sport to let them jump all over him.

This is what I was doing when I should have been cleaning my house before everyone got here.  Good thing family doesn’t judge me my by dirty windows and unmopped floors.  Once I start a sewing project it takes precedence over everything else.  These were probably the easiest patterns to make/sew because of the straight neckline and the sleeves being a part of the front and back of the shirt.  Sleeves and necklines are always the hardest part of a Tee-shirt everything else is pretty straight forward.  I love the cut of this shirt so much I now want to make one for myself.   A project for another day.

I meant to tell you on the phone yesterday that Tom and I sneaked in for the blessing on Sunday. Ryan did a great job and it was a beautiful blessing! So fun to have so much of your family out too. Ryan and his dad are twins. :)

...but then again, he's his mom. Weird. Perfect combination I suppose.
