Milestones
We’ve hit a couple big milestones for us and all unexpectedly in the last week. The first.
Sadie taught herself how to ride a bike with no training wheels! This girl is always surprising me and this was quite the surprise. I went off to the General Relief Society broadcast Saturday night and was surprised Sunday after church with Sadie demonstrating how she can ride her bike! Apparently Ryan was busy working in the garage meanwhile Sadie was busy testing out her bike. We have learned this year that Sadie learns best when she figures it out on her own. We can try all we want to teach her something, but until she decides she can do it she will fight learning how to do it. However, once she does realize it is something she can do she’ll teach her self surprisingly quickly.
The next milestone was Kindergarten!! We had applied for Landmark a charter school that is peanut free that we REALLY, REALLY wanted her to get into, but she was way back on the waiting list so we didn’t think she’d get in this year and were content to try again next year. Which is when we really wanted her to go anyway. She’s an Aug. birthday so she’d be young for her age and we wanted one more year with our little one before sending her off to the big world of school, school, school. Last week we got a call from the school that she got it! Sadie was more than thrilled about the prospects of going to Kindergarten and I was so relieved that she was in and I didn’t have to worry about sending her off to a peanut infested school! No offense to you peanut eaters, but this was such a relief! No more worrying about peanut laced hands on the playground…..drinking fountain…..tables…..and everywhere else!!
Aw! Such a cutie. I can’t believe this sweet girl is big enough to go to Kindergarten all by herself!
A while back Sadie was asking me when she would go to Kindergarten and I never knew what to tell her……maybe this year (if she got into Landmark….) maybe next year. Who knows. We’ll have to just wait and see. She then said, Mom, is it because I can’t drive?? That gave me a good laugh.

As a peanut eater, I am completely offended! Ha! What a relief for you guys for her to get in. She looks so darling in her little outfit. I'm still just a little bit sad she and Reese won't be in the same grade now, but I'll get over it soon enough. :)
It was fun looking through your blog...so happy to see pictures of Sadie going to kindergarten and I am just inlove with your pictures of Finn...he is so cute and Rachel did an amazing job.
