Our little trooper
This weekend we had BEAUTIFUL weather so we decided to hike the Royal Arch trail in Boulder. It sure did not feel like fall. We were all sweating the first while until we got up into the trees. Luckily most of it was shaded. The trail is a little under 4 miles round trip and Sadie hiked the entire way to the top and alot of the way down. We were stunned.
I was seriously so amazed with this little hiker. This is not the easier hike. It has tons of rock stairs and a bunch of climbing up and down boulders. She was so hilarious, the whole way up she was just chatting and chatting with us. Chatting or singing. We had such a blast!
Piper thoroughly enjoyed the ride as well.

We made it! The Royal Arch!! Once you get to the top there isn't much room for walking around. The top is just a bunch of huge boulders that you climb up to see the view. Not a whole lot of room to sit around and relax with little ones. Just before we reached the top, Sadie informed us that she was tired and wanted to take a nap. Too bad for her we had a long hike down before that was going to happen.
Lucky for us she perked up a bit and was able to hike down quite a bit, with me carrying her down all the "tricky" spots as she calls them.

By the time we got to the bottom we were all thrilled at the site of the car.
I absolutely love days like this. Being outside all day long either hiking, biking, or whatever else are my favorite thing to do with the family and I'm so excited that Sadie is big enough to do it on her own now. I'm hoping for another weekend like that so we can explore some of the other trails. There is a huge network of trails that go up the mtn. We will have to check out the others another time!
