Fall Festivities
I am loving the fall! I would say its my favorite time of year, but I think spring will always win out because I feel so desperate for sun and warmth after the long winter. But regardless, I still love the fall and all the fun activities that go along with it. To name a few of my favorites......
- apple picking
- caramel apples
- baking
- carving pumpkins
- the whole Halloween extravaganzas
- the smells
- apple cider
A few weekends ago we went up to Boulder to spend the Saturday and had fun wandering around the city and the campus. These first few pictures are from our wanderings.
This is the Colorado Buffalos stadium behind me, the whole campus was really neat, including the stadium.
By the end of all our walking I had gotten big blisters on my feet so Sadie and I stopped for a foot rest while Ryan walked the last 1/2 mile to the car and then picked up his sore footed friends.
Monday night we carved our pumpkins and I made us dinner in a pumpkin (it was a first, that I want to start making a tradition of). The dinner didn't turn out quite as I was imagining it.....next time I won't put potatoes in they take way too long to cook and by the time they were even semi soft our pumpkin was about to collapse from being cooked too long. It still tasted delicious, just the pumpkin didn't survive to complete the whole presentation of the dinner.

Friday I had some girl friends over and we made caramel apples with the kids. Sadie was dipping her apples in chocolate instead of caramel and she absolutely loved it. She was eating the chocolate by the spoonfulls. She's been deprived of it for so long I think she thought she'd better stock up, who knows when the next time she'll get chocolate will be. No I'm not a finatically mom that won't let my child eat chocolate it's just almost all chocolate has peanuts or some traces of peanuts in it. So needless to say she doesn't get it often and when she does, it is quite the treat as you can see.
Halloween!!
Sadie was a princes in her darling tutu skirt mom made for her.
We started the night off with having dinner with Kelli and Brandon Eudis and filled our bellies with some darn good chicken cordon blue (sp) and then headed out trick-or-treating. We all had so much fun. Sadie was running down the sidewalks screaming out of pure enjoyment and we couldn't have asked for better weather it wasn't even cold one bit. Once the candy buckets were drooping we headed over to another friends house for more candy and socializing.
