Chicago

This past weekend we made a trip down to Chicago with David and Jodee Luke and had such a fun time walking all over downtown and shopping. Two of my favorite things. We drove down friday after the boys got home from work around noon, they had a half day. It made for a nice long weekend.

Apparently the Chicago traffic was a little too much for David. The food was what I was most looking forward and it didn't let me down. We had deep dish Chicago pizza friday night that was fabulous.

The huge face fountains, always a favorite with us. The faces look around for a few minutes and then ever so often they spout water from their mouths and all the kids run and play in it. It's a fun fountain, I'm sure Sadie would have loved to crawl around in it, but she had crashed in her stroller by this time.

Saturday we spent the morning lounging in the hotel room while Sadie took a nap. That nap had to last her the whole day and thankfully it did. She was a happy little girl the whole day. She loves being out and about. After the nap we wandered around town some more. At some lunch, got some ice cream... We were planning on seeing the science museum at the end of the day before we went home, but by the time we'd spend the whole day walking around we were all pooped and decided to call it a day. On our way home, we stopped at the Prime Outlet mall, for a little more shopping to top it all off. That outlet mall is really quite a good one. It was a first trip for the Donohues, but definately not the last. We couldn't spend quite as much time as we wanted to there because the BYU game was anxiously awaiting us at home, that and the fact that Sadie was wired from only one nap and it was definately time for bed.

The whole weekend was very fun and exciting, sad its over. Back to a regular week.

Kandis, Racine really isn't that far from us...I'd say maybe 1/2 hr to 45 min. Let us know when you're in town and we can try and get together.
