The Flu Blues

It finally got to us. The dreaded flu that has been going from household to household made it to our house. I thought we had dodged the bullet, but somehow it found me. I felt normal when I went to bed Sunday night and then when I woke up at 1:30am to feed Sadie I felt just terrible. I had all the symptoms.....the chills, the shakes, nausious, headache, lightheaded, headache, achey....you name it, I had it. I found myself wishing I could throw up so I could feel just a little bit better. Funny how that works, because once you do, you wish you would never vomit again! It's a viscious cycle. I layed awake the whole night tossing and dreading the day. I knew Ryan wouldn't be able to stay home from work to help out with Sadie because he was leaving for BYU to recruit early Tues. morning and he had tons of work to do before then. All that worrying did no good because I still felt like poo when morning came. I just have to say that Ryan is really the greatest husband ever. It's true, he really is. He was so good to me the whole night and then in the morning he went to wallgreens to pick up some drugs for me so I could make it through the day, and best of all he finished everything at work and was able to come home at noon and help nurse me back to health. He's the best! Luckily for me when I woke up tues. morning I felt so much better.

On to more exciting topics, Ryan is loving his short stay in Provo re-living college memories. I'm sure missing him at home, yes I know I'm pathetic, its only been 1 day. But ya know, I think this is the first time we've been apart for more than a day since we were married.

Sadie is so darn cute these days, she got her first two teeth a few weeks ago and she's picked up this extremely high pitched squeal she does all the time now. She does it pretty much whenever she wants our attention, is bored, tired, hungry, pretty much most of the day. She has this very fun play gym with fish that dangle down that she can swat at and she loves it for just a few minutes, then all of a sudden she starts screaming like she can't take it anymore. I have to hurry and rescue her from the fish before we have a breakdown. Sadly, she's afraid of her fish. Maybe one day she'll be able to face them.

That pretty much wraps it up for our house. It'll be a great day when we're all totally well again.

You are hilarious. I am so sorry that that had to go and hit you! Not fun. When does Ryan get home? Soon I hope. I know how that can be. I can't believe Sadie already has TEETH! That's crazy. I'm sure Porter wishes his would come through, but no such luck. He's been teething with the same tooth since the middle of November. Poor kid.

We miss you. Come see us!

love - Shannon
